この話を聞いた人たちは、「こんな悲しいことが二度と起きませんように」って、小さな折り紙のお守りを作ったんです。
それが、折り神籤。
鶴の形は弟橘媛のやさしさと祈りを、兜の形はヤマトタケルノミコトの勇気と強さを表しているんだって。
日本では昔から、鶴は神様の使いで、兜は身を守るものだと信じられていたんですね。

Long, long ago, in an old Japanese tale, there were two wonderful people: Yamato Takeru no Mikoto, a brave hero, and Ototachibana-hime, a kind princess.
